Are you handy with tools and passionate about keeping things in great shape? The Blacksburg Interfaith Food Pantry is looking for one to three dedicated Volunteer Facilities Support Specialists to help ensure our operations run smoothly and efficiently!
Our pantry is a busy hub serving the community, and maintaining our facility is essential to providing a safe, welcoming environment for volunteers and those in need. If you enjoy practical work and problem-solving, your skills can make a real difference.
In this key role, you will be responsible for:
- Handling Small Repairs: Performing minor maintenance tasks like changing batteries in keyless entry systems, hanging small items securely, and addressing simple repairs around the pantry.
- Coordinating Larger Projects: Acting as the main point of contact for bigger repairs, working with outside contractors to ensure quick and effective solutions.
- Developing & Following Maintenance Plans: Creating a proactive schedule to keep equipment and the facility in top shape, preventing issues before they arise.
