What We Do
The Blacksburg Interfaith Food Pantry (BIFP) was established on October 15, 1987, to help combat food insecurity for families in Blacksburg and McCoy. The pantry is operated entirely by dedicated volunteers, with no paid staff members. Support for clients is provided entirely through generous cash and food donations from the community.
Eligible families receive a week's worth of groceries each month. Clients select their food with the assistance of a pantry volunteer, in a manner similar to shopping at a grocery store. Food quantities and options are carefully planned by the pantry to accommodate the size and needs of each family.
